The Maldives have a range of different habitats including deep sea, shallow coast, and reef ecosystems, fringing mangroves, wetlands and dry land. There are 187 species of coral forming the coral reefs. This area of the Indian Ocean, alone, houses 1,100 species of fish, 5 species of sea turtle, 21 species of whale and dolphin, 400 species of mollusc, and 83 species of echinoderms. The area is also populated by a number of crustacean species: 120 copepods, 15 amphipods, as well as more than 145 crab and 48 shrimp species

What to Expect

Maldives is the definition of paradise to many with its turquoise water, white sandy beaches, and abundant sea life. Little known to the world until the 1970s, its resort islands are now world-famous and attract tourists from all over the world. Before 2009, people can only stay on resort islands, but now you can stay on local islands as well.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at male Airport

You will be picked up by our local tour representative at the airport and get transferred via speedboat to the resort. Check into your room and enjoy a warm greeting at the hotel. Take the remainder of the day to explore the sandy beaches and enjoy the views of the vast sea. Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2Leisure day

After enjoying a lovely breakfast, you have the entire day at leisure as part of your Maldives holiday package for family. You can opt to check out the many activities that the resort offers. Return to your room after an eventful day for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3Spa Day

Enjoy breakfast in your room and then get ready to treat yourselves with an indulgent spa treatment (at additional expenses). Enjoy spa sessions and special aromatherapy treatments to rejuvenate your body and soul. Return to your resort for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 4Departure

The day your luxuriating Maldives family holiday tour comes to a happy end. Enjoy a breathtaking sunrise on the last morning of your trip, before another delicious breakfast at the restaurant. Check out and you will be transferred to the Male Airport as per the flight timings.

Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.
